Growing In Faith and Learning
Welcome back after the Christmas break and Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a lovely time and are refreshed and ready for the new year.
Our topic this term is Europe in which we will be looking closely at Italy. We have already studied the globe, concentrating on the continents and oceans as well as the lines of longitude and latitude, the Equator, Greenwich Meridien, the Arctic and Antarctic Circles and finally the Tropics.
As part of our learning about Italy, we will be looking at the physical features of the country - mountains, rivers, seas and volcanoes as well as immersing ourselves in the culture of the country. We will be making traditional Italian food as well as visiting Pizza Express to make our own pizza! I'm very excited about this!
On a Thursday afternoon, Mr P. will be teaching PE to Kestrels.
The children will have daily spelling lessons at the start of every morning. They will receive a set of spellings to learn each Friday and they will be tested the following Friday.
Children will be given a times table test or division tables test every Friday.
Children will receive 1 merit for bringing in their reading planner and 1 merit for each time they have read and their planner has been signed.
PE will be on a Thursday. Please make sure that you have any jewellery removed and long hair tied back.
The children will be set 1 piece of English and Maths each week. This will be given out each Friday and will be collected in the following Wednesday.
Check our page regularly for updates and please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
