This week we held our annual talent show at Tamworth Enterprise College. This was a great opportunity
for the children to showcase their talents to a large audience. It was great to see lots of different acts, including dancing, singing, gymnastics, poetry, drama and interesting animals facts from Dr. Fliss. The school's dance team and choir also performed on the night.
Thank you to the school governors and Mrs Arnold, who had the very difficult job as judges. The winners were:
1st- Dr. Fliss' hilarious animal facts and Emily and Elsie's rendition of Edelweiss
2nd- Maisie's gymnastic skills and Alfie's scene from Les Miserables
3rd- Laila's monologue from Alice in Wonderland; Dylan's version of a 'One direction' song and Demi's dance to the script.
Well done to everyone that took part, you were all amazing, and congratulations to our winners.
The talent show raised a whopping £371 that the school council are putting towards their playground Games Den.
This week Kingfishers visited Tamworth Castle as part of their History topic on Castles. After visiting the Great Hall they went to the Armoury where they got to look at the different weapons and tried on chainmail and helmets. They even sat on the Lord and Lady's thrones.
Their first workshop was helping the servants lay the table ready for the Lord and Lady. They laid the table for dinner and found out lots of interesting facts, including what everything was made from. They even had to bow/curtesy when the Lady entered and couldn't sit down until she gave them permission.
After lunch they attended the Squire workshop. Here they met Master Lincoln, the Squire in charge of training the young men to be Knights. They learnt how to dress in a full suit of body armour and then stood in line and practised handling the lances, striking high and low.
