In order to keep you fully informed about the very latest advice relating of COVID-19, we have set up this page. New information and advice will be added here as soon as we are updated so please check the page regularly.
The DfE’s current guidance for educational settings is that education providers should operate as normal:
“If a confirmed case occurs in an educational setting the local Health Protection Team will provide you with advice and will work with the headteacher, principal and or management team of that setting.
Outside those that are defined as close contacts, the rest of the school does not need to take any precautions or make any changes to their own activities attending educational establishments or work as usual.”
The Department for Education has launched a new helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education.
Staff, parents and young people can contact the helpline as follows:
Phone: 0800 046 8687
Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)
IN THE EVENT OF A SCHOOL CLOSURE
We sincerely hope that our pupils, staff and their families will not be affected by COVID-19, however we are setting up contingency plans to try to mitigate the impact on our pupils.
The decision for the school to close would be made by Public Health England and, as always, we would follow any directions and guidance given.
In the event of a school closure we will text all parents, post a message on the website and also on the Class Dojo App. We will then keep parents regularly updated as to when we are expecting to re-open.
Should we be asked to close, teachers will upload tasks they would like their classes to complete each day onto the 'Classes' page of our website. These are accessed by going to the ‘Children’ tab and selecting ‘Class Pages’.
