Growing In Faith and Learning

'Growing in Faith and Learning' 'Life in all it's fullness' John 10:10

Welcome to St Leonard's CofE Primary School

Welcome to St. Leonard’s Church of England Primary School. We hope our website gives you a flavour of our vibrant, happy school and the achievements of our delightful children. We are a thriving church school in the picturesque village of Wigginton with a strong Christian ethos, growing in faith and learning. We passionately believe in developing the ‘whole child’ and ensure all children have the opportunity to reach their goals and shine in their own unique and wonderful way. Our kind, caring and dedicated team nurture, motivate and encourage our children to be confident and well-rounded members of their community. I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of St. Leonard’s, a place where children develop a passion for learning, feel good about themselves, are proud of their achievements and create lasting memories of friendship and connection in our school family. I warmly invite you to come and visit us at St. Leonard’s Mrs Kirsty Cullen, Headteacher.

Wrens

Welcome to Wrens!

We are the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) class for Nursery children.

Robins is taught by Mrs Grove, Mrs Watkins and Mrs Ward. The EYFS is overseen by the EY lead, Ms Bryan.

Communication

Please contact any of us using the following email address:

office@st-leonards-wigginton.staffs.sch.uk

We often email/text with reminders and information so please ensure the office has your up to date contact information.

Tapestry

This year we are using an online Learning Journey to record your child's progress at school. Please feel free to add your own observations to share with us. If you wish to have access for another parent/carer on Tapestry, please let me know. You will find helpful guides further down the page to help you navigate Tapestry.

PE

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, Physical Development is incorporated into our learning everyday. This means that Nursery do not have a stand alone PE lesson like the other classes.

Reading

All children will have a reading diary and they will choose a picture book from our school library to take home and share with an adult.

Water Bottles

Children should have a water bottle in school each day please. This should be either water or weak squash please and ideally in a sports type bottle to limit spillages.

Healthy Snacks

Free fruit/vegetables and milk are available every day at our snack table. You may provide your child with their own fruit/vegetable snack if you wish. Unfortunately, we cannot allow the children to bring in cereal bars, rice cakes, etc.

School Meals

If your child is in nursery for the whole day, you are able to purchase a school dinner using ParentPay. Alternatively, you may wish to provide your child with a packed lunch.
