Growing In Faith and Learning

'Growing in Faith and Learning' 'Life in all it's fullness' John 10:10

Welcome to St Leonard's CofE Primary School

Welcome to St. Leonard’s Church of England Primary School. We hope our website gives you a flavour of our vibrant, happy school and the achievements of our delightful children. We are a thriving church school in the picturesque village of Wigginton with a strong Christian ethos, growing in faith and learning. We passionately believe in developing the ‘whole child’ and ensure all children have the opportunity to reach their goals and shine in their own unique and wonderful way. Our kind, caring and dedicated team nurture, motivate and encourage our children to be confident and well-rounded members of their community. I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of St. Leonard’s, a place where children develop a passion for learning, feel good about themselves, are proud of their achievements and create lasting memories of friendship and connection in our school family. I warmly invite you to come and visit us at St. Leonard’s Mrs Kirsty Cullen, Headteacher.

  • Laches Wood

    Fri 17 Mar 2017
The Year 5 children enjoyed 3 days at Laches Wood this week.  They experienced a variety of activities such as: high ropes, archery, BMX biking, caving and bush craft.  They all had an amazing time and enjoyed sharing stories about their time there.
  • This week

    Fri 10 Mar 2017

Four of our children represented the school at the swimming gala final at the Snowdome on Thursday: Naomi (Y6), Oliver (Y5), Bethany (Y4) and Freya (Y3). They competed in a variety of strokes including breast-stroke, back-stroke and butterfly. They were all fantastic and we are very proud of them – well done all!

During their Forest School session Kingfishers made an African village to link with their topic. It was very windy but the children persevered!

  • World Book Day

    Thu 02 Mar 2017
The children were invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and to bring their favourite book into school to share.  It was great to see all of the different costumes.  The children really enjoyed sharing their books and taking part in the different activities. Keep an eye on the gallery page for photos.
