Curriculum Intent - Art and Design

Our intent for art is to not only model and teach the skills and knowledge for art, but also to nurture a passion for creativity and a development of their own personal ideas and growth. To provide a wealth of opportunities for experimenting with a variety of media, techniques and presentation. To have opportunities to explore the works of great artists.

Curriculum Intent - Design Technology

Our intent for design and technology is to give all children the opportunities to design, make and evaluate products using a variety of materials. To evaluate existing products, to break down the processes involved in making, to design their own creations and evaluate them against a design specification. We want to teach children to use a variety of tools, specific skills and techniques safely in order to make their designs. We also want them to have the opportunities to study key designers and be inspired by their works.

The lead teacher for Art and Design and also Design Technology is Miss Williams.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me through the school office on 01827 213995 or email v.williams@st-leonards-wigginton.staffs.sch.uk
