Growing In Faith and Learning
Our topic for this half term is called The Rotten Romans. We will be learning who the Romans were and how we know so much about them. During our topic lessons, we will look at how the Roman Empire spread across Europe and beyond and how its army played an important role in its success. To enhance our knowledge about the Romans, we will be having a fun, action packed Roman Day during this half term. The children we learn what life was like in Britain before the Romans invaded and how it was changed by the Romans. We will be debating if the the arrival of the Romans was a good thing or not.
We encourage the children to read everyday and to make a note of any reading they complete in their reading records, which will be checked each morning.
The children will have a times tables test every Friday. The times table test will consist of multiplication and division facts.
A spelling test will take place every Friday. The spellings your child needs to learn will be brought home by them each week.
PE will be taught on a Tuesday and Thursday this Term. PE kit should consist of a white polo shirt, navy or black shorts for indoors and tracksuit bottoms for outdoors, a jumper or hooded top for outdoors and trainers or pumps suitable for physical activity. No jewellery should be worn on PE days.
