Growing In Faith and Learning

'Growing in Faith and Learning' 'Life in all it's fullness' John 10:10

Welcome to St Leonard's CofE Primary School

Welcome to St. Leonard’s Church of England Primary School. We hope our website gives you a flavour of our vibrant, happy school and the achievements of our delightful children. We are a thriving church school in the picturesque village of Wigginton with a strong Christian ethos, growing in faith and learning. We passionately believe in developing the ‘whole child’ and ensure all children have the opportunity to reach their goals and shine in their own unique and wonderful way. Our kind, caring and dedicated team nurture, motivate and encourage our children to be confident and well-rounded members of their community. I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of St. Leonard’s, a place where children develop a passion for learning, feel good about themselves, are proud of their achievements and create lasting memories of friendship and connection in our school family. I warmly invite you to come and visit us at St. Leonard’s Mrs Kirsty Cullen, Headteacher.

Religious Education

Religious Education Statement of Intent

Religious Education is taught using the Diocese of Lichfield’s Guidance following the ‘Understanding Christianity’ scheme. It is our intent that Religious Education promotes the Christian concept of the Trinity to engage and inform, equipping our children with the knowledge and skills to ask and seek answers to challenging questions. We provide an irresistible curriculum that not only develops our children’s understanding of their own faith and values, but also encourages them to flourish as individuals.  This enables them to make sense of religion and to be able to reflect on their own views. We provide our children with opportunities to learn about world religions and views in local, national and global contexts, to discover, explore and consider different answers to these questions. As a result, they will become independent, empathetic and responsible members of society who understand and explore big questions about life.  They will be encouraged to find out what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, enabling them to develop their ideas, values and identities whilst also embracing our vision of how to live as Christians, with a sense of Hope, Community, Dignity and Wisdom.

The lead teacher for Religious Education is Mrs Hunt.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me through the school office on 01827 213995 or email office@st-leonards-wigginton.staffs.sch.uk

Mr Singh's visit: He explained his life as a police officer, father, husband and Sikh. He told us lots of jokes and we hope he will return to see us very soon!

Barbara has visited us lots of times. We always enjoy her visits and love hearing about her work as a nurse at Little Aston Hospital.
