Librarians

Welcome to the Library!

We are very proud of our school library and cannot believe that it's been open two years already! It's wonderful to see the children excited about reading and our amazing library definitely encourages and promotes this in school.

Our library is open daily at break time; each class is given a day where they can bring along their books to return, browse the collection, borrow books or even just use it as a quiet space to sit in a nook and read a book! The children are welcome to borrow two books at a time and can return them whenever they've finished with them. Our pupil librarians run these sessions.

Our library is also open every Friday morning when our school librarian, Mr Dunne, holds a session for each class where they can visit and return/borrow a book.

Our new librarians are raring to go and have decided that this year, they're going to be trying to replace some of the non-fiction books in the library. They have a number of things planned, so watch this space!

The arrival of our Book Bus!

Our Librarians for 2025/2026 are Oliver, Amelia, Orla, Zara, Lacey, Sasha-May, Jessica and Arthur

So far this year, our librarians have been wonderful and achieved so many things already:

- They've organised a 'Book Character' competition, where children were invited to draw their favourite characters. It was a tricky decision to judge the winners, but congratulations to Lizzie, Luis, Archie, Joshua and Connie, who each won a £5 book voucher! All of the entries are displayed in the library (October 2025).

- Rather than a normal Christmas tree, the librarians decided they wanted a 'Book Tree' instead. They created their own little baubles and asked children to write their favourite Christmas books on each one, recommending them to others (December 2025).

- They've reorganised the library, particularly the older fiction books. They've made it much easier for children to find books by their favourite authors.

- The children are currently organising some fun activities for World Book Day in the library... so watch this space!
